The organisation is made up of 115 member organisations in 56 countries and 34 associate members from a further 21 countries and is made up of broadcasting organizations (radio, television and multimedia) public as well as private with public service obligations.

One of the best known events organized by EBU is the biggest musical show on the planet, the Eurovision Song Contest organized since 1956, where 52 countries have already participated.
